Our Exclusive Kids’ Ski School (10:00–15:00)
- Five hours a day on snow — far longer than the usual 2–3 hour programmes in many European resorts, so children progress quickly and naturally.
- Adventures across the Monterosa — not just laps on one slope; groups explore new runs and, for the more confident, even new valleys.
- Fabulous mountain lunches — children eat with their instructors using Ski Champoluc vouchers, trying different lunch stops through the week so lunch feels like part of the adventure. ➜ Lunch vouchers:
- Small groups, big progress — typically up to 4 for beginners and 6–8 for intermediates/advanced for plenty of attention and support.
- The Goat — Champoluc’s much‑loved red run that many children aspire to ski by week’s end (cue the coveted “I Skied The Goat” hoodies and tees!).
- Awards in the village — on the final afternoon we host a friendly ceremony in the village where every child receives a certificate, badge and a small gift from Ski Champoluc.
- Friendly, hands‑on help — our British team help with kit in the mornings, escort children to the gondola and are ready with helping hands (and high‑fives) at 15:00 pick‑up.
A Day in Ski School
10:00 Meet at Crest (top of the Champoluc gondola) — beginners start on the nursery slope right in front; confident groups set off to explore.
10:15 Coaching & confidence — tailored drills, games and plenty of skiing to lock in good habits.
12:00 Mountain lunch — a different restaurant most days; it’s social, tasty and very Italian.
13:00 Afternoon adventure — more mileage, new runs and mini‑goals (for many, building up to The Goat).
15:00 Finish at Crest — easy for parents to meet children and swap stories.
Ski Levels & Badges — How Progression Works
- Level 1 – Beginner: Basic snowplough glide and brake with good balance and posture.
- Level 2 – Basic Turns: Linked snowplough turns, developing different turn radii and control.
- Level 3 – Basic Parallel: Linked parallel turns on easy terrain with improving control.
- Level 4 – Basic Intermediate: Introduces pole‑plant timing; linked turns of varied radius across different terrain.
- Level 5 – Intermediate: Good edge control and faster skiing on red runs; balanced control of speed and direction.
- Level 6 – Advanced: Dynamic body position, flex and extension for edge control; carved turns throughout the arc.
- Level 7 – Expert: Confident on difficult terrain (including off‑piste); precise short turns on steeps and fast GS‑style turns.
Where Ski Lessons Start & Pick‑Up
All classes begin and end at Crest. Beginners stay near the nursery slope; intermediate and advanced groups might ski over to Gressoney or Alagna for lunch and mileage before returning by 15:00. Parents often use the time for their own lessons or to enjoy a long Italian lunch, knowing the kids are happily looked after.
What Our Customers Say About Us
Posted on Alasdair SutherlandTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot speak highly enough of Ski Champoluc. From my initial enquiry right through to the end of the holiday, the whole team has been absolutely first class. The booking experience was excellent. Very responsive and helpful. It was clear they were looking to provide us with the best package to suit our particular circumstances. At no point did I feel like I was being “sold” anything I didn’t want. From the moment we arrived at the airport we felt like we were being looked after. That continued throughout the holiday. Nothing was too much trouble, and the team were always so friendly. A great mix of fun, informal, yet respectful and caring. Everyone made us feel very welcome and part of the Ski Champoluc family. The transfer from the airport was good. Whilst not exactly luxurious, it was perfectly comfortable and Giovanni was very friendly. We received a very warm welcome on arrival at Hotel La Rouja and they were happy to give us dinner at 9pm. The hotel is fabulous. Much like the Ski Champoluc team, the hotel staff were fabulous. The hotel itself is very comfortable. The spa and outdoor pool are very high standard. Definitely not a gimmick. We finished every day with a soak in the pool, a sauna and steam, and some quiet time (for the adults) in the relaxation room. The boys also enjoyed rolling around in the snow before jumping in the pool. The adults did not… The team were great at setting us up with lessons and giving us tips about where to go. The lunch vouchers were great and included the best restaurants up the hill. The area is great value. For example, in one of the restaurants a voucher gets you a pizza and a glass of wine! We were there with our two boys (13 and 9), and they have absolutely loved it. The ski area is really good, and the SC team will happily drive you along to Frachey, which provides easier access to the gentler slopes. Otherwise, it’s straight up the hill from next to the office to Crest. We have been to Champoluc before, but not with Ski Champoluc. They have given us the most amazing experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.Posted on Chiara AguzziTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. ConsigliatissimoPosted on C YuenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. it was the first time we skied at Champoluc. Apart from our own flight, Ski Champoluc basically arranged for everything from airport pick-up, a very cozy hotel which offered breakfast and dinner, ski equipment to lunch vouchers on the mountain, which made the trip totally worry-free and budget fully expectable. All their staff were so super friendly, polite and helpful, always willing to answer any questions and offer advice. A couple of us were sick and they even offered to drive us to the pharmacy from the hotel, which was an incredibly caring act which shouldn’t be taken for granted. We can during Christmas and were lucky that it snowed rather heavily on the day we arrived. The mountain was therefore beautiful with powdery snow the next day, with a combination of levels. The only downside was probably be very limited green… but to some it could be a plus? The small town was quite self-sufficient with a few cafes and restaurants, shops and a small supermarket. We are immensely pleased with our trip, and my son already asked to come back again!Posted on Paul HarrisonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Another (our eighth?!) holiday in Champoluc with Simon and team. As always, everything ran as smooth as clockwork and the service was exceptional. The resort remains unspoilt and uncrowded; the only change was the welcome addition of a new lift in Gressoney.Posted on Christine BarnesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Another fab trip to this lovely ski town with Ski Champoluc, this time over Xmas. They are so good at making everything work, from the up-front planning through to the smallest details during the holiday. The team are so helpful and smiley. The hotel was great - Le Petit Tournalin, the slopes were in fab condition with loads of new snow and the food everywhere so good. Thank you Simon and the whole team. See you soon. Our ski school is popular, particularly in school holiday weeks. To secure spaces, we recommend booking lessons when you confirm your holiday.
Adult Lessons — Designed Just for You
- Private tuition every day — far longer than the typical 2–3-hour sessions offered at many European resorts. With so much time on the slopes, children progress quickly and naturally.
- Group lessons — not just laps on one run. Groups explore new slopes each day and, for the more confident skiers, even venture into neighbouring valleys.
- Guiding & off‑piste — explore the quieter sides of Monterosa with fully qualified guides. These options offer both challenge and safety for more adventurous skiers.
- Flexibility & choice — hour‑by‑hour lessons, or half/whole‑day options. You choose what suits you best.
FAQs — What We’re Asked Most Often
Are lessons taught in English?
Yes, all lessons are taught in English. Many of our instructors are Italian but English‑speaking, and during main weeks we include British instructors too.
What is the minimum and maximum number of people in group lessons?
Group lessons are between 4 and 8 skiers. We maintain smaller numbers for better learning and safety.
Can you arrange private lessons during school holiday weeks?
It depends — these are in high demand. We recommend contacting us as early as possible to check availability and arrange a private instructor.
Do you provide skis, boots and helmets?
Yes. We arrange everything for you. All skis, boots and helmets are provided directly through Ski Champoluc, fitted and prepared by our team before you hit the slopes. No need to visit busy hire shops — everything is ready and waiting when you arrive.
Is off‑piste skiing available for adults?
Yes. Off‑piste guiding is one of our options for experienced skiers — guided tours with full safety support, route knowledge and equipment.
Do I need to pre‑book lessons?
Definitely. Especially in peak holiday weeks, adult lessons (private or group) fill up quickly. Booking ahead ensures you get the slot, instructor, and pace you want.
What if it snows poorly or the resort has low snow?
While we can’t guarantee snow, Champoluc’s altitude (village 1,600m; skiing above 2,000m) plus extensive snowmaking across many slopes helps make us more snow‑assured than many resorts.
